Boil Bay Cajun Seafood and Bar: Your Destination for Cajun-Style Seafood in Richmond, VA

My friend and I went. The server was wonderful and my fried catfish was great. However , the shrimp seafood bag was not as well received and the corn from both bags ordered was mushy . There was also no sausages in either bag . The atmosphere was wonderful and quiet which is what was expected for the time of day we went .

Great seafood spot in Henrico, Va. located in a shopping center in a well traveled area. I was greeted with a smile and the establishment is very clean, well appointed to give you the feel of a great seafood experience. I decided not to do a seafood boil because that’s always my go-to at these types of restaurants. So I started with two appetizers: the Cajun fried rice with chicken, shrimp and sausage. It was quite delicious. The rice was prepared perfectly and I did not need to add anything to it. I will definitely order this again and again. The chicken wings were my second appetizer and I love that they are fried crispy with what seems to be a buttermilk batter. I asked for the Cajun seasoning on the side. Next up was the lobster roll which was also a win. I ended the meal with the soft shell crab basket and a side of cole slaw. I ordered a pound of shrimp (head off) with corn, sausage, potatoes, and boiled eggs — everything was fresh and full of flavor. The drink I had was just as good. The atmosphere was great, with music that set a real vibe. The staff was attentive and proud of their service, and our food came out quickly. I’ve been here before on a weekend night when it gets pretty lively, but this time we must have arrived just before the party kicked off. Either way, the energy is always good. If you’re looking for a top seafood boil in Richmond, Boil Bay is always at the top of my list.

10/10 we had Caitlin as our server, she was amazing. The food was delicious. The coconut shrimp, seafood boil and beignets were SO good. The live DJ was great also ! Super impressed we will be back for sure!

So so good. Amazing food, amazing prices, and the staff were all so sweet! Just $11 for a shrimp bag meal - that's cheaper than fast food these days! I got some sides to share with my kids, and the portions were huge. And even my picky 1 year old loved the food.

Don't let looks decive you, this is a great establishment in a offbeat area. Once you walk, you will be quite surprised on how large, clean and uniquely designed this place is. Geesh they have sailboat in the middle of the place. Great little bar, with a few tvs you can sit and watch the game. Great setup throughout. They even had a little stage area where a DJ was setting up for karaoke. My wife ordered the Lobster roll with Cajun fries and my daughter and I split the large combo with crab legs, black mussels, and little necks. We also got a an order of hush puppies. Food came pretty quickly, nice and hot. The fries were incredible! Actually everything was fantastic, but the Lobster roll, which looked rather pathetic. My wife had asked if it was butter based and she was told yes, but it also came with mayonnaise, which she despises. Our waiter said he would take it back, but a manager just happened to come over and ask how everything was. We explained and she said it wasn't on the top of her list and asked if she wanted something else. My wife switched to shrimp po boy, which was really good. All the seafood was steamed to perfection and the Bay Boil seasoning was tasty. Karaoke was a little much at dinner, not being prepared, but that's something you can work around. We definitely be going back, when we need our seafood seafood fix.

Decided to treat ourselves to seafood but didn't feel like going out. This place does not dissapoint! We got a huge order delivered and it was amazing! Packaged for delivery with great care and food still warm after a 25 minute delivery drive! EVERYTHING was delicious! LOVED the coconut shrimp so much I woke up this morning wanting more!!

Lowkey vibe, excellent food, our drinks were so yummy as well. Jen was so hospitable and Mimi was great too. Jen made sure our meal just kept getting better and better. Definitely a must stop.
